 I can certainly recommend
taking the lessons regarding learning to
read the dial if you haven't already as I had never used
one before
and am now able to see what I couldn't in the beginning.
It has
taken me time, but with Steve's great teaching, patience
and
encouragement I am well on the way. There are lots of
good
articles on the Uranian site which I have found very helpful
along
with being a member of the 101 group.
My partner (an astrologer)
has been trying to explain the concept of mid-points and the
90 degree dial to
me for months. I've read several of the introductory books you have
listed on the web
page for beginners. And I've looked at the software that generates the
charts. But
it was not until I took your lesson one and actually spun the dial
myself
and saw the symmetry
of the planetary pictures that it finally clicked for
me and made sense.
I really liked the opportunity
to get my feet wet with the other
dials, and the comparison of the different dials with each other was
very
enlightening for me. Makes me want to explore the 45 and 22.5
dials more!
Some more things
clicked, I am really enjoying the lessons and plan
to spend more time with Uranian Astrology after the first of the year
when
things slow down at work again. Thanks Steve for the opportunity
to learn
this fascinating form of astrology. I have found explainations
for things
in my life that traditional astrology just did not show.
I really enjoyed
this assignment Steve, I feel I have learned a lot as far as being able
to “look” and place objects in a chart - not such a linear way
of
thinking now. I could have put a lot more comments into 9b but
am not
sure how much you want in these answers - would you prefer us
to keep
them brief or are you happy for long and involved answers?

much of

You are putting
so much into this course so I am very happy and
prepared to take advantage to learn so much more
about astrology. I actually put
more time in as regards study of this subject in general. I
get into bed
with my astrology books and notes and work on them this way
as well as
sitting at my computer during the day. This knowledge is like
food to me
(good nourishment for my brain)
I thought the
assignment was GREAT! It allows you to see just what
we know and don't know. :-) Excellent method, I know this
took a lot of
thought on your part. Steve, you really are a good teacher!.... <G>
We thoroughly
enjoyed this assignment. We were really impressed how
you led us into making some great discoveries and for me really
gave me a
deductive way of understanding the mechanics of mid point and Uranian
astrology. I am a person who needs an intellectual understanding of
why
things are done so I can see the over view of how the system works,
then
comes the interpretation. This assignment was great and gave me that
step
by step overview. For Liz - she is better at the pictures and clicked
into
this form of astrology assignments ago, she too really enjoyed the
step by
step discovery. Without Liz, I would have been struggling. Now after
this
assignment I have really got it , not to say I was totally in the dark
before just floundering a bit. You've done a great job and a big

dated 2 Nov 1997) AFTER HAVING PREPARED ALL THIS I SEE THAT I COULD HAVE
PERHAPS CONDENSED THIS INTERPRETATION A BIT. I HAVE FOUND THIS ARTICLE
TO BE VERY HELPFUL AND WILL USE IT FURTHER IN MY FUTURE INTERPRETATIONS.

I really wanted
to take this opportunity to thank you for all the work you
are doing to keep up the lists from your home computer. I am
finding the
Mid101 list very interesting, and although I am not posting much at
this
time, because my books have not arrived yet and most of what you folks
talk about is a little difficult to me, I do print most posts to keep
as
reference later.
Again, I thank
you for your wonderful course. You are very helpful,
supportive and a gifted teacher. This shines through even in

Just wanted
to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the hard work
you've been putting into these assignments, along with all your other
duties as moderator of these lists. I honestly don't know how
you do it!
Considering how long it takes me to do the assignments, I can only
imagine
how much time you're spending on this. How do you find the time
to have a
life???
At any rate, with the help of these assignments, which are forcing me
to
take the time and actually *work* with the dial and push myself past
the
fear of not being able to interpret what I find, I am learning at an
increasing pace! It's so easy to get overwhelmed by this subject,
and
having the guidance to focus in on one area at a time is giving me
more
courage to actually get right in there and *do* it! Before, I
just didn't
know where to begin.

I'm starting
to find out that Munkasey's book gives a better idea of the
meaning of the MPs then Rules or Cosi. It's a very good book.
I have read all of
the material you wrote on Answers to Assignment 2,
including your expanded general comments, and it has been an enlightening
learning experience indeed.
I understand
clearly that I´m hurrying in the process of learning and this
is no good. But I want to tell you also how impressed I am seeing all
what
you put for make me your generous corrections. I will try to go more
slowly (the problem is with my uranian kind of being: Su conj Me over
Asc.
opp. Ur).
I am understanding
more as each week goes by.
I love this class and am enjoying every minute of it.

Studiyng Uranian makes

Although my
understanding of how to read
these pictures is very limited and to say honestly that it is
feeling
rather difficult and foreign to me--I am proud of what I have

I am enjoying the list so
very much.......and learning in the process. I
have "Rules....." ordered and confirmed to be here within a couple
of
weeks. One more step on the path....
Your assignment made
me to reread the Uranian books I have and the
responses and answers from your students are very wonderful. Many selected
quotes are interesting.
I have not allowed
myself to start on the assignment until the last moment
as the information is riveting. As I find info, I search for
more... and
the cycle begins. I want to have time to apply the little I know
to the
charts closest to me, but cannot allow myself that luxury for now.
It's
hard to tear myself away from the computer. I haven't been able
to order
the dial and books yet, but shall get to it this week.
This lesson was much
easier – however I had problems completing it
because I kept getting distracted – looking at this chart and that.
I
think, all in all it took between one and two hours for the core
assignment, but really I spent many days on it – I have been having
way
too much fun with this!

question #2 -- which I have actually been having a
very interesting time with. I have at my elbow -- including your
Internet
references -- COSCI, Rules..., the Dial Detective and the Phoenix Workshop
book. I am having my books sent down from Nova Scotia so I should
have
the rest of my books including Munkasky's (which I just learned is
out of
print), and the Harding, Harvey books. The more I get the feel
of this,
the more hooked I am --
This assignment was
MUCH easier, though it still took several
hours....mainly due to my insatiable appetite for research and devouring
more information. I want to know and understand it all...
YESTERDAY.
Your interim e-mails have immensely helped to clarify the concepts
for
this raw beginner. Thank you, Steve for your dedication
and the enormous
amount of time you must put into our education... not to mention the
other
sites. Do you "work" or "play" in another capacity elsewhere?
Thank you for giving and
compiling these lessons. I am finally getting
down to learning Uranian Astrology along with the dial, thanks to you.
The reading and research
were well
worth the effort. I have just received "The Dial Detective" and
will be
getting other books and tools soon. I think that many things
clicked with

get here! In the meantime, I can read _Directions_. We are having
trouble getting _Dial Detective_. Thanks so much Steve, for all your
helpful emails! You are really an
ambitious person and it is much appreciated.
During these days
I was reading the "Dial Detective" and also I was practising with a 90º
dial that Mary Downing had send to me when I requested her for buying the
Journals of the NGCR about "Uranian Astrology" and Dials, telling to her
that I was one of your students. I use the "WinStar 90º Dial chart"
(of Mother Teresa), and I fixed to it the 90º dial sent by Downing.
It works fine !!! I used nearly all the possible time you gave to us trying
to obtain more information for answer the questions. I can say that now
I´m a little more trustful using the 90º dial, and over all
I feel that you are teaching to us the letters of a new language, this
powerful instrument which is the use of Midpoints and Planetary Pictures
systematically, integrating them in the vision of the natal chart attained
with the dials.
I have learned more "astrology"
in the past two weeks than I have learned in the past 20 years. The
assignment was not difficult but it took me a long, long time because I
couldn't stop reading about other "Uranian Stuff". A huge "thank you" to
you! I have been doing "Astrological Consulting" for many years and
was completely burned out (stopped answering my phone because I couldn't
bear taking another appointment with yet another chart). I am completely
revitalized and am as excited about our profession as I was 25 years ago.
I have you to thank for that!
Its a lot easier apart from
question 6. We have the info off the web sites
as well as Dial a Detective to use as reference material. Its starting
to
fall into place thank goodness. We are really enjoying discovering
this
new way of looking at astrology.

Believe me, even though
I never see you, since I became one of your
students, I´m continuously thinking about you and our group.
I feel that
you are doing a very important work for the expansion of the Uranian
Astrology through the whole world (and for our knowkledge), and perhaps
some day, some of us can help you in that purposse.
I want to tell you also that I have in front of me the
"Dial Detective"- (I got it)-, I´m finishing it but I feel
that I need
something more... . I´m doing plans for buying other Uranian
books. In
the mean time I continue reading all what you indicated us in the Web
for
the answers of the Second Assignment. I use "Matrix Winstar" and I´m
trying to understand the "Midpoints Sorts of 90º, 45º &
22.5 Dials". |
